Job Summary
The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of goods to customers and business locations. The role includes loading and unloading products, planning efficient delivery routes, maintaining delivery records, and ensuring excellent customer service while complying with traffic laws and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver goods according to assigned routes and schedules.
- Load, unload, and secure products to prevent damage during transportation.
- Verify delivery items against invoices, delivery notes, and customer orders.
- Obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery using manual or electronic systems.
- Plan efficient delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance or repair requirements.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, fuel usage, and expense reports.
- Handle customer inquiries professionally and resolve delivery-related issues where appropriate.
- Collect payments or return documents when required.
- Report delivery delays, accidents, traffic issues, or damaged goods to the supervisor.
- Follow company policies, traffic regulations, and health and safety procedures.
- Assist with warehouse loading, inventory handling, or other logistics duties when required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver is preferred.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning.
