Heavy / Trailer Driver
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Heavy / Trailer Driver to operate heavy vehicles and trailers safely and efficiently. The driver will be responsible for transporting materials, equipment, and goods while ensuring compliance with traffic laws, company procedures, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy trucks, trailers, and other assigned commercial vehicles safely.
- Transport materials, equipment, and goods to designated locations.
- Ensure safe loading, unloading, and securing of cargo.
- Inspect the vehicle before and after each trip and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Follow approved routes, delivery schedules, traffic regulations, and company safety procedures.
- Maintain proper vehicle documents, permits, trip sheets, delivery notes, and other required records.
- Verify cargo quantity and condition before departure and upon delivery.
- Coordinate with logistics, warehouse, site, and transport teams regarding loading and delivery schedules.
- Ensure the vehicle is maintained in clean and safe operating condition.
- Monitor fuel levels and report fuel or vehicle-related issues.
- Immediately report accidents, breakdowns, cargo damage, delays, or other incidents to the supervisor.
- Assist with basic vehicle checks and routine maintenance when required.
- Ensure cargo is properly covered, tied, and secured during transportation.
- Follow all company HSE and road-safety requirements.
- Maintain professional conduct when dealing with customers, suppliers, site personnel, and other road users.
Requirements
- Valid Heavy Vehicle / Trailer Driving Licence appropriate to the country of operation.
- 3–5 years of experience driving heavy trucks, trailers, or similar commercial vehicles.
- Good knowledge of road safety rules and traffic regulations.
- Experience with long-distance transportation is an advantage.
- Ability to safely handle and secure heavy or oversized cargo.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle inspection and maintenance.
- Good geographical and route knowledge.
- Physically fit and able to work flexible hours and extended trips when required.
- Responsible, punctual, disciplined, and safety-conscious.
- Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in construction, logistics, industrial, or heavy-equipment transportation.
- Experience transporting machinery, construction materials, containers, or oversized loads.
