Job Description – Social Media Marketing Manager – WHX (World Health Expo)
Job Summary
We are looking for a creative, strategic, and data-driven Social Media Marketing Manager to lead the social media strategy and digital presence for WHX (World Health Expo).
The role will be responsible for building awareness, engagement, registrations, and community growth across WHX’s social media channels. The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B marketing, exhibitions, conferences, healthcare, events, or international brands, with a strong understanding of social media strategy, content creation, paid campaigns, influencer/KOL engagement, and performance analytics.
The successful candidate will work closely with the marketing, sales, content, partnerships, exhibitor, and event teams to develop campaigns that drive attendance, exhibitor visibility, brand engagement, and overall event success.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy
- Develop and execute the overall social media strategy for WHX across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, X, TikTok, and other relevant platforms.
- Build and manage monthly and event-specific social media calendars.
- Develop platform-specific strategies based on target audiences, campaign objectives, and event timelines.
- Establish clear social media KPIs and continuously optimize performance.
- Monitor global healthcare, medical, exhibition, and business trends to identify relevant content opportunities.
Content Creation & Management
- Develop engaging content around WHX events, exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, products, innovations, and industry trends.
- Create concepts and briefs for reels, videos, carousels, graphics, interviews, testimonials, stories, polls, and other formats.
- Coordinate with designers, videographers, photographers, copywriters, agencies, and internal teams to produce high-quality content.
- Develop pre-event, during-event, and post-event content strategies.
- Create real-time social media content during exhibitions, conferences, launches, and networking events.
- Ensure all content follows WHX brand guidelines and communication standards.
Campaigns & Event Promotion
- Plan and execute social media campaigns to drive event awareness, registrations, visitor attendance, exhibitor participation, and engagement.
- Develop campaigns for event launches, registration milestones, speaker announcements, exhibitor highlights, product launches, awards, networking opportunities, and event experiences.
- Create countdown campaigns and high-impact promotional campaigns leading up to each event.
- Develop post-event campaigns to extend content reach and maintain audience engagement.
- Work with the wider marketing team to align social media activity with email, website, PR, paid media, and offline campaigns.
B2B & LinkedIn Marketing
- Develop a strong LinkedIn strategy focused on healthcare professionals, business leaders, decision-makers, exhibitors, buyers, investors, and industry stakeholders.
- Create thought-leadership content and industry-focused posts.
- Promote speakers, exhibitors, partnerships, announcements, reports, and industry insights.
- Develop campaigns targeting senior healthcare and business audiences.
- Monitor LinkedIn engagement, follower growth, and lead-generation opportunities.
Influencer, KOL & Industry Engagement
- Identify and engage healthcare influencers, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), medical professionals, industry experts, media personalities, and relevant content creators.
- Develop partnerships and social media collaborations to expand WHX’s reach.
- Coordinate interviews, expert content, speaker features, takeovers, and collaborative campaigns.
- Track influencer/KOL campaign performance and ROI.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry voices and online communities.
Paid Social Media
- Plan and manage paid social media campaigns across relevant platforms.
- Develop audience targeting strategies for visitors, exhibitors, healthcare professionals, buyers, decision-makers, and other relevant segments.
- Coordinate campaign creatives, copy, landing pages, budgets, and schedules.
- Monitor campaign performance and optimize for reach, engagement, registrations, leads, and conversions.
- Work with performance marketing teams/agencies to improve campaign ROI.
Community Management
- Monitor comments, messages, mentions, tags, and conversations across WHX social channels.
- Respond to audience questions and engagement in a timely and professional manner.
- Build an active and engaged online healthcare and exhibition community.
- Monitor brand sentiment and escalate sensitive issues when required.
- Encourage user-generated content and event-related conversations.
Live Event Social Media
- Develop and execute a comprehensive live social media strategy during WHX events.
- Coordinate real-time coverage of keynote sessions, panel discussions, product launches, networking events, exhibitor booths, awards, and other activities.
- Manage live stories, reels, posts, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, and event highlights.
- Coordinate with onsite content teams to ensure fast and high-quality content delivery.
- Maximize social engagement and reach during the event period.
Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor social media performance across all channels.
- Track KPIs including reach, impressions, engagement, follower growth, video views, website traffic, registrations, leads, and conversions.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and campaign-specific performance reports.
- Analyze audience behavior and identify opportunities for growth.
- Conduct competitor and industry benchmarking.
- Use insights and data to continuously optimize content and campaigns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Business, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in social media marketing, preferably within B2B, healthcare, exhibitions, conferences, events, or international brands.
- Proven experience managing social media channels for a large-scale brand or event.
- Strong understanding of LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and other relevant platforms.
- Excellent copywriting and content-development skills.
- Strong understanding of paid social media and digital campaign management.
- Experience with social media analytics and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and project-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel internationally or work onsite during WHX events when required.

- Experience with tools such as Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Google Analytics, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar platforms.
- Basic knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other content-creation tools.
- Strong understanding of short-form video and Reels/TikTok content.
- Experience managing social media during large-scale live events.
- Strong understanding of current social media trends and algorithms.
