About the Role:
We are seeking a meticulous and reliable Inventory Control Officer to ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory and financial transactions at our stations. This role is critical to our operations, involving the management of high-volume shipments, financial reconciliations, and daily inventory audits. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, trustworthy, and possess strong analytical skills.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
1. Shipment & Receiving Management:
- Receive and verify incoming shipments exceeding 30,000 tons per month per station.
- Meticulously review and validate all scale tickets and shipping documents for accuracy.
- Ensure all received materials are logged correctly into the inventory system.
2. Supplier & Invoice Reconciliation:
- Close all shipping invoices with suppliers in a timely manner.
- Investigate, document, and resolve any discrepancies in quantities, pricing, or documentation with suppliers.
3. Inventory Control & Auditing:
- Perform daily verification of the packaging machine counter against the quantity sold and reported.
- Conduct regular and systematic physical inventory counts for packaging materials and spare parts.
- Reconcile physical counts with system records and report variances.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
4. Financial Control & Cash Handling:
- Review, verify, and clear daily customer deposits (from both pre-sales and direct customers).
- Ensure all cash receipts are accounted for and prepared for bank deposit.
- Manage and be responsible for station-related petty cash, including expense reporting and reconciliation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, accounting, or a similar role, preferably in logistics, FMCG, or industrial sectors.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel is essential).
- Experience with inventory management software or ERP systems.
- Core Competencies:
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills for reconciliation.
- High level of integrity and responsibility, especially with cash and high-value inventory.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems.
