Job Description – Quantity Surveyor (Arabic Speaker) – Facilities Management
A Quantity Surveyor (QS) is responsible for managing cost control, quantity measurements, contract documentation, and financial aspects of facilities management projects. The role involves preparing estimates, monitoring project costs, and ensuring commercial efficiency while coordinating with clients, contractors, and FM teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and pricing for FM maintenance and project works.
- Perform quantity take-offs and verify measurements from drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
- Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities), variations, and cost analysis reports.
- Monitor project costs and ensure works are completed within budget.
- Review contracts, quotations, invoices, and payment applications.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Prepare variation orders, claims, and cost reports.
- Track project progress and compare actual costs against budgets.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams.
- Conduct site visits to verify completed works and quantities.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation.
- Support tender preparation and contract negotiations.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and project cost forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, contract terms, and FM procedures.
- Communicate with Arabic-speaking clients, contractors, and stakeholders when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably in Facilities Management (FM).
- Experience in Qatar/GCC construction or FM projects is preferred.
- Arabic language proficiency is required.
- Knowledge of contract management and commercial procedures.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of cost estimation and quantity measurement.
- Experience preparing BOQs, variations, and cost reports.
- Understanding of construction and FM contracts.
- Good knowledge of procurement and subcontract management.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
