Job Summary
The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating employee learning and development programs that enhance skills, improve performance, and support organizational goals. The role collaborates with business leaders and HR to identify training needs, deliver learning solutions, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct training needs analyses in partnership with managers and department heads.
- Design, develop, and implement learning programs, workshops, and e-learning content.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs for new employees.
- Deliver instructor-led training sessions and facilitate workshops as required.
- Manage the organization's Learning Management System (LMS), including course assignments, tracking, and reporting.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and performance metrics, and recommend improvements.
- Develop individual development plans (IDPs) and career development initiatives.
- Support leadership development, succession planning, and talent development programs.
- Coordinate external training providers, certifications, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain training calendars, attendance records, budgets, and learning documentation.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements and organizational policies.
- Monitor industry trends and introduce innovative learning methods and technologies.
- Prepare reports on learning activities, completion rates, and return on investment (ROI) for management.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and employee engagement across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in learning and development, talent development, or corporate training.
- Experience in designing and delivering training programs within a corporate environment.
Preferred Certifications
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP/CPTD)
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM-SCP
- CIPD Level 5 or Level 7
- Train-the-Trainer Certification
Technical Skills
- Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Instructional design principles
- E-learning authoring tools (Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, etc.)
