Senior Digital Content Editor/Writer
Reports to: Content Director or Head of Digital
Position Overview:
The Senior Digital Content Editor/Writer is a strategic storyteller and guardian of brand voice. This role involves creating, editing, and overseeing high-quality, engaging content across digital platforms (websites, blogs, social media, email campaigns, etc.). They ensure all content is on-brand, optimized for SEO and user engagement, and aligns with overall marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Strategy & Creation: Develop and execute a digital content strategy. Produce exceptional long-form articles, blog posts, website copy, scripts, email newsletters, and social media copy.
- Editorial Leadership: Oversee the content calendar, ensuring a consistent pipeline of high-quality material. Edit and proofread all content produced by the team or contributors for clarity, tone, grammar, and SEO.
- SEO Integration: Work closely with SEO specialists to ensure all content is optimized for search engines while maintaining readability and user value.
- Brand Voice Stewardship: Maintain and evolve the brand voice guidelines across all digital touchpoints.
- Performance Analysis: Use analytics to measure content performance, draw insights, and make data-driven recommendations for content improvement.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior writers or content creators.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional writing and editing experience, preferably in an agency or digital publishing environment.
- A robust portfolio showcasing versatile and compelling digital content.
- Expertise in SEO principles and content optimization tools (e.g., Yoast, SEMrush).
- Meticulous editing skills and mastery of AP or similar style guides.
- Experience with Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress) and basic understanding of HTML is a plus.
